Vanwall Victory

Vanwall Victory

This historically significant film depicts the memorable 1957 Monaco GP and first ever victory by a British car in a World Championship GP. Full coverage in Monaco shows the multiple shunt that resulted from some rather late braking by Stirling Moss. The melee involved nearly every top driver and car of the era, but Fangio (Maserati) skillfully escaped the chaos and went on to win beating Brooks in a Vanwall and Gregory in another Maserati. By the British GP at Aintree the Vanwall team were still to enjoy the fruits of their labours but were encouraged to have Stirling Moss and Tony Brooks sandwiching Behra (Maserati) on the front row of the grid. And what a race ensued! The footage from this event captures one of Moss’ greatest ever victories. You'll really appreciate how good a drive this was!
