Do any listers know where to obtain methanol? I seem to remember Newton Oils used to supply it but I can't find any trace of the company - are they still in business?

They sell dry blended methanol. This is very much more expensive than what people conventionally use in cars (ie Methanol Industrial solvent). BUT it doesnt have any of the water content that the industrial methanol has. This gives several advantages, especially when mixing with petrol
